Roni Cherian is the owner of Love, Vision, Nutrition. He’s a vegan chef, environmentalist, holistic health expert and Agnihotra practitioner. Roni does Agnihotra/Homa Farming to expand his consciousness and connection to the planet. He uses Homa gardening techniques to grow healthy food to serve his customers.
He says, “We are here to serve the people with the right actions and right mindsets for higher standards of flow and livity (how to live.)”
I met Roni last year when he visited Shanti Villa Institute to buy Ayurveda compost. He was new to gardening and wanted to grow vegetables and fruits without chemicals.
Agnihotra, also known as Homa Therapy had a profound effect on Roni’s spiritual practice. The fire uplifted his family and his life’s purpose came into sharp focus.
How has Agnihotra Benefitted You?
He says, “Agnihotra awakens a part of you that needs to be present. Overall, it has helped me clarify my inner self as far as getting better thoughts on what action steps need to be done. Being able to commune with the Creator and being able to have Earth healing is what is taking place.”
He goes on to say, “The fire lets you enhance your own fire and to be inspired, so that’s one main thing I like about it.”
“The fire produces ash, a holy ash, a universal ash that allows everything to blossom, not only that which is in the soil but the blemishes on your skin to the parasites in your gut. It is a gift to humanity.”
Roni looked at gardening videos for inspiration. While building his compost pile, he planned to do intensive gardening. This technique is done by growing many types of plants close together to maximize space.
What was it like starting a garden for the first time?
Roni says, “As a first-time gardener, I learned that I am already a farmer by nature. Repeating the same mistakes allows you to see that the mistakes were meant to be repeated so that you can contribute the right ideas to the right possibilities in gardening.”
The green thumb touch comes from his grandparents, who live in Kerala, India. Years ago his grandfather was a rubber farmer. His grandmother is a plant whisperer and grows moringa, beans, peppers, tomatoes, papaya and native flowers. He recently gave me her moringa which I use to make healing teas. She grew it, dried it, and ground it into powder with a mortar and pestle. I taste her love and care in every cup of tea.
Roni says, “My South Indian roots were also another factor that allowed me to enhance my gardening process with techniques that were done by my grandparents and parents. I incorporated this knowledge with practices in the States that I learned from people such as you–The Agnihotra Lady (Mama Dee), and from people I met at events.”
1st Experiment Without Agnihotra Ash
In his words:
“I started off by throwing different organic seeds, such as snow peas, zucchini and carrots on wet paper towels. In early spring, I got a zip-up indoor greenhouse from Amazon and sprouted some plants before transplanting them into pots to let them grow larger and get accustomed to the outside.”
“This trial was not so promising; a few survived but most failed to hold up. With a little doubt in the air, I took some time to myself, listened to my intuition and went for a more raw approach. An approach that will set me on an unknowing path of definite results.”
2nd Experiment With Agnihotra Ash
“I decided to plant seeds directly into the soil with a little bit of soil amendment made from organic compost, native soil and Agnihotra ash on select seedlings. We started off with zucchini in early May for our first ash-infused specimen. In a matter of two weeks the plants grew faster than the books said they would. By the end of the month the garden produced enormous zucchinis that could feed a person for a week.”
I have tasted the delicious results of Roni’s Homa harvest. He gave me a giant zucchini, beans, herbs, orange Siberian watermelon and peppers. He often brings me vegan meals prepared with fresh Agnihotra vegetables.
“When we, the people tap back into love as the basis of all systems of the Universe, we can get back into natural order and truly progress. “
We discussed technology and human evolution, and Roni is concerned that mankind isn’t advancing toward understanding the planet and properly caring for it.
He says, “There are many things that were given to men, and one of those things that keeps the balance and is a solution for continual balance is Agnihotra. It’s a truly advanced technology. Once you purify the mind, the atmosphere inside allows the external atmosphere to be a fruit of the purification process.”
“So much can be accomplished with unity of consciousness. We can create regenerative systems. We can replenish the atmosphere and the cosmic balance so all beings can rejoice, from the whales to Marvin the Martian. Love is fire so let’s light up the world!”
